Biased Dera Ismail Khan Police illegally arrests innocent Shia political workers
Dozens of Shia Muslims were arrested for exercising their Constitutional right of protest against the illegal occupation of land of Kotli Imam Hussain (AS) and construction of a commercial market on that land. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s Auqaf department permitted it, illegally because it was not government’s land.
Shiites set up a camp of protest under the aegis of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen to register protest against said illegal occupation and construction of market building.
Shia scholar Ghazanfar Naqvi said that a Hindu lover of Ahl-e-Bait had allocated his 327 kunal land for azadari (sacred mourning rituals) before the establishment of Pakistan.
He denounced that self-claimed so-called Muslims are bent upon selling out this land for the self-financial gains at throw-away prices that was totally illegal. He demanded of the government to stop Auqaf department from this illegal sell-off and sort out the issue according to the stakeholders’ wishes.
Instead of resolving that issue peacefully and amicably, police raided the peaceful protestors and took them into illegal custody.
