Gilgit-Baltistan to be 5th province of Pakistan thru amendment to Constitution

Gilgit-Baltistan is likely to be made fifth province of Pakistan through needed Constitutional amendment, according to Federal Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada.

The minister for inter-provincial coordination further said that the committee headed by Sartaj Aziz had given its recommendations according to which Gilgit-Baltistan would be made fifth province of Pakistan.
However, insiders have disclosed that government was still confused and divided on this issue because of some complications.
People of Gilgit-Baltistan are of the view that either State of Pakistan accept them as full-fledged province and the first class citizen of Pakistan or they announce freedom and establish a sovereign state.
