Two Deobandi terrorists held for facilitating suicide bombing in Lahore
Two ASWJ-allied Deobandi terrorists have been arrested yesterday for their role they played in suicide blast in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park Lahore in March 2016 that claimed at least 72 lives while injured scores of others.
Law enforcement agencies have nabbed Shahidullah and Khan Zaib who performed recce and shifted the bomber in the park.
Sources privy to Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have reported that the arrested extremists shifted Nasir, the suicide bomber to the attack site.
On March 27, 2016, at least 72 persons loss their lives while over 300 were wounded as a suicide bomber detonated his vest in the park.
Security forces had launched a combing operation across Punjab after the attack. However, the government had formed a Joint Investigation Committee (JIT) comprising of five members.
The five-member JIT included Superintendent of Police (SP) Counter Terrorism Department Investigation Wing, two personnel of intelligence agency and Station House Officer (SHO) among others.
