A Sunni cleric has accused former military ruler General Ziaul Haq of handing over Pakistan to the kharjis (outsiders), a term that is used for takfiris terrorists who consider themselves as Muslims and call all other Muslims as infidels due to difference of opinion on some issues.

Pir Masoom Shah Naqvi, chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan-Niazi said that since General Zia’s tenure Pakistan had fallen victims to the terrorism and that was result of his wrong policy of patronizing Kharji terrorists.
He condemned the suicide bombing at the shrine of Hazrat Bilawal Shah Noorani in Balochistan province saying that terrorist attack was in continuation of countrywide bombings of great Muslim saints. He said that terrorists also bombed the shrines of Abdullah Shah Ghazi, Baba Fareed Ganj Shakar, Data Darbar, Bari Sarkar and many other shrines.
He lambasted the government for her failure in eliminating terrorism. He said that government couldn’t take much-needed concrete practical steps to root out takfiris terrorism. He said that Sunni Muslims too were being victimized and marginalized due to pro-Kharji or pro-takfiri policies.
