Police tear gas shelling, firing leave many Shia Muslims injured and unconscious

Many Shia Muslims including women and children fell unconscious and some of them were injured due to intense tear gas shelling and firing by the police who wanted to disperse peaceful protestors at Malir 15 on Monday.

Shia Muslims staged a peaceful sit-in on main national highway near Malir 15 to press the government to release all innocent Shia Muslims including Allama Mirza Yousuf Hussain and Faisal Raza Abidi. But, SSP Korangi led police team that was subsequently joined by SSP Malir as well, reported to baton charge firing and tear gas shelling to force the protestors including women and children to disperse.
People resisted but they were surrounded and even tear gas shells reached their homes in Mohammadi Dera Malir. Many were injured and fell unconscious. Many were arrested.
