8 terrorists of Deobandi Daesh killed in encounter with CTD in Dera Ghazi Khan

The Counter-Terrorism Department lte on Thursday night killed eight Deobandi takfiri militants of Saudi co-religionist Daesh group in Dera Ghazi Khan during a combing operation in Punjab province.

Official sources said four hand grenades, an automatic rifle and four pistols were seized during the operation. “Eight terrorists were killed and three managed to flee,” an official source in the CTD said.
They said the terrorists had plans to target sensitive installations in the province. The Punjab government is carrying out an operation against takfiri militants of banned Deobandi outfits as part of National Action Plan (NAP) to quell militancy and extremism.

Reports had it that these terrorists were hiding in Shujabad Multan where intelligence had an eye on their activities because they were plannig to hit Moharram mourning procesions and congregations. To avoid arrest, terrorists chnaged their hifeout and shifted to Dera Ghazi Khan but they were under strict vigil of the intelligence officials.
