Love of Imam Hussain requires us to confront Yazidi system, says Jamaat-e-Islami chief
Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has urged people to confront system of remnants of Yazid, the tyrant ruler of despotic Umayyad dynasty, to vindicate the stance of adoring Imam Hussain (AS).
Speaking at Friday prayers congregation in Mansoora yesterday, he said, Imam Hussain, the grandson of Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH), struggle to establish rule of law instead of one man or one-family misrule, where all are equal before law.
“Karbala is a university where it is taught that oppression must be countered and tyranny ought to be eliminated,” he said.
JI Chief lamented that Parliament wrongly passed law against the spirit of Islamic teachings and Quran. He said majority in the parliament didn’t mean to challenge Islamic laws and if they do so that conveyed the message that they wanted to destroy the ideological foundation of Pakistan. He said women-related laws should have been referred to Council of Islamic Ideology first and after their recommendations, that should have been amended.
