Donald Trump’s Popularity at Historic Low

Shiite News: US President Donald Trump’s popularity remains at its historic lowest level in recent days, while a large number of Hispanic voters, expressing severe dissatisfaction with his performance, have decided not to vote for the Republican Party in next month’s midterm elections. According to the results of a six-day survey, only 32 percent of Americans expressed satisfaction with Trump’s overall presidential performance, which is equal to the Reuters-Ipsos survey conducted in September and recorded the lowest level of his political career.

Hispanic voters played a key role in Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential elections, and at that time Trump received about half of the votes of this demographic, while in 2020 this rate was one-third. However, in recent months, support for Trump has declined rapidly, largely due to American citizens being severely affected by the back-breaking inflation that arose after the decision to go to war against Iran. According to the survey, only 24 percent of Hispanic Americans expressed approval of Trump’s performance in the White House, which is the lowest rate ever for this demographic during both of his presidential terms.

The survey also made clear that Trump’s declining popularity is directly negatively affecting the Republican Party. Before the November 3 elections, among registered voters, 44 percent supported the Democrats while only 37 percent supported the Republicans. In addition, among independent voters, Democrats have 37 percent support while Republicans have only 21 percent support, and only 26 percent of Hispanic registered voters intend to vote for Republican candidates. It is noteworthy that these elections will determine control of both houses of the US Congress and will determine the political situation of the last two years of Trump’s presidential term.
