UN Is Merely a ‘Drama,’ Iranian President Represented the School of Ahl al-Bayt with Resolve: Allama Shabbir Misami

Shiite News: In his Friday sermon at Baqiyatullah Mosque and Imambargah in Defence, Karachi, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Dr. Shabbir Hassan Misami described the United Nations as an arena where, in his view, little happens beyond political theatre.

Praising Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian’s address to the United Nations General Assembly, he said that followers of Imam Ali never bow before anyone. He stated that despite his simplicity, President Pezeshkian firmly presented his position with a sense of national and religious dignity, adding that even U.S. media outlets were surprised by the impact of his speech.

Criticizing what he described as insensitive Muslim rulers, Allama Misami said that Muslims in the Middle East are being targeted while a so-called “Greater Israel” is being pursued, whereas, in his view, many Muslim rulers are merely watching the situation. In contrast, he praised armed fighters who, according to him, continue to stand against their opponents despite limited resources. He also strongly criticized what he called the United States’ “hollow and authoritarian democracy,” referring to the country’s debt.

Discussing national affairs, Allama Shabbir Misami said Pakistan could not afford further political tensions and urged all sides to pursue understanding and reconciliation over the situation in Islamabad. Expressing concern over rising inflation and recent terrorist incidents, he stressed the importance of unity for national stability. He also advised caution and avoiding haste in adopting modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and electric vehicles.

On spiritual and moral matters, he urged believers to engage in self-accountability and strengthen their relationship with Allah. He said that one should seek forgiveness immediately after committing a sin and should not necessarily regard continuously received blessings as a sign of Allah’s approval, as they may also constitute “Istidraj.” He emphasized maintaining a spiritual connection with Ahl al-Bayt through Dua Kumayl, Dua Nudbah and Munajat Khamsa Ashara, while also urging people to exercise great caution when commenting on others in everyday matters.
