Silence on Israel’s Nuclear Program and Pressure on Peaceful Countries Reflect Global Double Standards, Says Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi

Shiite News: In a special message issued on the occasions of World Maritime Day on September 24, the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons on September 26, and the International Day for Nuclear Disarmament on September 29, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi said that every year, commitments are made to ensure the safety of maritime routes so that global trade and the economy can grow, particularly allowing developing countries to benefit from them.

He said that in recent times, the seas, like the land, have also been affected by what he described as a “war mentality,” causing serious negative consequences for the global economy. According to Allama Sajid Naqvi, this trend of militarism and domination is increasingly becoming a serious threat to global peace, trade and economic stability.

Allama Sajid Naqvi said that the International Day for Nuclear Disarmament is being observed at a time when the same powers that used nuclear weapons against Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the past are now targeting the nuclear program of a peaceful country. He said that what he described as the international community’s silence over Israel’s nuclear program, while peaceful countries face pressure and sanctions, is clear evidence of global double standards.

He warned that the indiscriminate use of force is pushing the world toward a catastrophe from which no region would remain safe. He urged the United Nations and the international community not to limit their efforts to observing international days but to take practical measures to prevent war, aggression and domination, and to ensure the equal application of human rights and international law in all cases.
