US Using Every Means to Negotiate with Iran, Says Iranian Vice President

Shiite News: Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has said that the United States is using every possible means and method to negotiate with Iran, even with its president reportedly contacting a low-ranking official from an African country directly in an attempt to turn him into a mediator. Aref said the US eagerness for negotiations is a sign of Iran’s strength and power.

Congratulating students and educational staff on the beginning of the new academic year, Aref attributed the country’s achievements to education and training.

Mohammad Reza Aref said that despite two wars and one attempted paramilitary uprising during the past year, the government’s performance in education, development and technology had been notable. Referring to President Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to New York, he said the president would arrive at the UN General Assembly well prepared to present Iran’s position and evidence of its development and to respond firmly to what he described as the enemy’s unjust sanctions.

The Iranian vice president also criticized international institutions, saying that little could be expected from organizations that are influenced by global powers and operate according to what he described as double standards. He said institutions that remain silent over the deaths of millions of Muslims raise human-rights concerns over comparatively minor offenses involving Western individuals.

However, Aref emphasized that independent-minded people still exist around the world and said Iran would convey to them its message of five decades of resistance and national power.
