“Stop Shedding Crocodile Tears,” Iranian Foreign Minister Slams French Counterpart

Shiite News: Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has strongly responded to a recent message from his French counterpart, sharply criticizing France’s colonial past. Addressing the French Foreign Minister, Araghchi said bluntly, “Mr. Barrot, stop shedding crocodile tears.”

According to reports, Seyed Abbas Araghchi said that France massacred 1.5 million Algerians during the Algerian War of Independence, while Paris has officially acknowledged fewer than one-tenth of those deaths. He said that France still refuses to offer any apology for its serious colonial crimes.
