US Aggression Against Iran Is an Attack on Islam; Pakistan Should Not Become Part of Yemen War, Says Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri

Shiite News: A solidarity conference for Palestine titled “In Memory of the Martyrs of Palestinian Freedom” was held in Karachi under the auspices of the Palestine Foundation Pakistan. Religious scholars, intellectuals, political figures, and a large number of people attended the event. Opposition Leader in the Senate and Chairman of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan, Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, and Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly and PPP leader Anthony Naveed attended the conference as chief guests and addressed the gathering. The Palestine Foundation Pakistan has also published an account of the conference reflecting these remarks.

Addressing the conference, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri said that US aggression against Iran is, in his view, an aggression against Islam and called on the United States to immediately end it. He said that martyrs had paved the way toward freedom through the sacrifice of their lives. He stated that Pakistan should not become part of any Arab country’s war against Yemen and argued that Muslim unity is the only path toward the liberation of Palestine. He also criticized some Muslim countries for establishing relations and normalization with Israel, which he said obstructs Muslim unity. His remarks are consistent with his previously reported public statements regarding the conflict involving Iran and broader regional tensions.

Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed strongly condemned Israeli aggression against Palestine and Lebanon and said that Pakistan would continue to support the Palestinian cause at every level. He stated that the issue concerns not only Muslims but humanity as a whole, noting that Christians in Palestine are also affected by the conflict. He referred to Ayatollah Khamenei, Yahya Sinwar and Hassan Nasrallah as martyrs of Palestine’s freedom and called for an end to US aggression against Iran.

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Dr. Meraj-ul-Huda Siddiqui said that the United States had failed following the reported death of Ayatollah Khamenei and argued that it was incorrect to describe the people of Yemen as rebels. Representative of Al-Azhar University Egypt, Dr. Uzair Mahmood Al-Azhari, appealed to the public to provide Palestinians with every possible form of assistance. Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam described Palestine as one of humanity’s most important issues, while former Sindh Assembly member Mahfooz Yar Khan called for a boycott of American and Israeli products.
