CTD Operation in Peshawar: Five Militants Killed, Including Key Commander

Shiite News: Five militants, including a key commander of a banned militant organization, were killed during a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) operation in the Armar area near Shamshatoo Camp in Peshawar. According to the CTD, the slain militants were affiliated with Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), and the group was allegedly planning major attacks.

The CTD said the militants were planning attacks targeting sensitive installations, Imambargahs and churches. Authorities reported that an SMG, four pistols, two hand grenades, five magazines, a locally made improvised explosive device (IED) and a quantity of ammunition were recovered from the site.

According to officials, the slain commander, identified as Imran alias Abdullah, Bilal and Abu Bakr, was wanted in connection with 20 terrorism cases involving bomb attacks, targeted killings and other militant activities. The CTD also alleged that he was involved in the killings of Maulana Khan Zeb, Senator Hidayatullah and Rehan Zeb.

The CTD further said that Imran alias Abu Bakr was wanted in connection with the February 6, 2026 suicide attack on an Imambargah in Tarlai, Islamabad. According to the department, he had arranged a suicide jacket from Bajaur and transported the attacker from Nowshera to Tarlai. Another militant killed in the operation, Shahidullah, was allegedly involved in reconnaissance of the Tarlai Imambargah and identifying it as the target.

The CTD said a reward of Rs12 million had been announced for information leading to Imran alias Abu Bakr’s arrest or whereabouts. Following the operation, a search and clearance operation remained underway in the area.
