Prophet Muhammad’s Life Carries a Message of Peace, Humanity and Unity: Interfaith Conference Held at Imam Jafar Sadiq Seminary

Shiite News: A major conference on interfaith dialogue and religious harmony was held at Madrasah Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS) in Begum Ganj, Jaunpur, on the occasion of the blessed birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Unity Week.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and devotional poetry in praise of the Prophet (PBUH). Hujjat al-Islam Maulana Syed Safdar Hussain Zaidi, director of the seminary, welcomed the guests and said the purpose of the conference was to spread the message of peace and humanity through the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He added that the seminary has long served as a center of the Ganga-Jamuni cultural tradition.

Maulana Dr. Syed Kalbe Rashid, who came from Delhi, said the message of Unity Week is to set aside differences and promote solidarity. He stressed that people should move forward together, bringing Shia and Sunni Muslims as well as Hindus and Muslims into the effort.

Pandit Vijay Kumar Sharma said that both the Vedas and the Quran teach the values of love, while the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) showed humanity the path of truth and brotherhood.

Dr. A. A. Jafri described the hatred prevalent in society as a disease and said that it could only be treated through love and mutual harmony.

Maulana Syed Taqi Taqavi, a representative of the Iranian Cultural House, referred to the general amnesty declared after the conquest of Mecca and said that Islam is a religion of mercy rather than revenge. He added that unity is the community’s greatest strength.

Maulana Dr. Syed Kazim Mehdi Urooj Jaunpuri said that despite differences in secondary matters, people remain united on the fundamentals of monotheism, prophethood, and the Quran. He said the country cannot achieve genuine progress unless all sections of society, including Hindus and Muslims, come together.

During the conference, commemorative shields were presented to 10 individuals in recognition of their notable services. The event concluded with prayers for peace and security in the country.

Adnan Zaidi thanked all the guests. Maulana Hasan Mehdi, Maulana Asif Abbas, Maulana Syed Ahmed Abbas, Qamar Hasnain Deepu, Danish Kazmi, and a large number of other scholars, intellectuals, students, and local residents also attended the event.
