Sectarian Provocation in Kurram: Anti-Shia Slogans Chanted at Gathering Held in Name of Seerah of the Prophet

Shiite News: An extremely regrettable incident occurred during a religious gathering held in the Bagan area of Kurram District in connection with the Seerah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), where members described as banned takfiri elements reportedly chanted provocative slogans declaring Shias to be unbelievers. The incident has drawn serious concern and condemnation from various religious and social circles.

Critics and concerned citizens said that raising hateful and takfiri slogans against any Muslim school of thought at a sacred gathering organized in the name of the Prophet, described as a mercy to all worlds, is an act of blatant provocation. They emphasized that the message of the Prophet’s Seerah teaches peace, morality and tolerance, and that such gatherings should not become platforms for sectarian hatred.

Kurram District has already experienced several painful episodes arising from sectarian tensions and terrorism. In such a highly sensitive environment, provocative and hate-filled slogans at religious gatherings could further damage peace and increase tensions in the area, observers warned.

Religious scholars from all schools of thought have also been urged to prevent such sectarian provocation at their gatherings and promote mutual respect and peaceful coexistence in the region.
