Joint CTD and Intelligence Operation: 3 Suspected Terrorists Arrested in Karachi

Shiite News: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), in a joint operation with an intelligence agency in Karachi’s Korangi area, arrested three suspects allegedly involved in firing at an Independence Day stall.

During a press conference, CTD DIG Azfar Mahesar and CTD SSP Irfan Bahadur said that the arrested suspects were allegedly affiliated with the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba organization.

According to the officials, the suspects allegedly intended to create chaos and an atmosphere of fear on Independence Day. They reportedly opened fire at a stall on August 12, resulting in the death of Aman.

Authorities said that three hand grenades and weapons were also recovered from the suspects during the arrests. Officials added that efforts to identify and apprehend alleged facilitators and other associates are continuing.
