Saudi Government Fails to Stop Yemeni Delegation’s Flight to Iran

Shiite News: According to the source text, Saudi warplanes reportedly attempted to disrupt a flight carrying a Yemeni delegation to Iran by striking the vicinity of Sana’a International Airport. The report further claims that following threats of retaliation and a response by Yemeni forces, the Saudi aircraft withdrew from the area.

According to Iran Intel Watch, two Saudi military aircraft allegedly attempted to intercept or prevent the flight carrying Yemeni Shia passengers during the early hours of the day. The report states that after a Yemeni missile response and warnings of retaliatory action against Riyadh, the Saudi aircraft retreated.

The report also states that this was the first flight carrying Yemeni Shia pilgrims or visitors to Iran in 15 years.
