Karachi: High-Speed Vehicle Crashes into Imam Bargah Baqiatullah (AJ), One Girl Martyred, 17 Injured

Shiite News: A tragic incident occurred on Sunday night at Masjid and Imam Bargah Baqiatullah (AJ) located in Defence Phase 5, Karachi, when a speeding vehicle lost control and entered the premises during a mourning gathering and Majlis-e-Aza. The accident resulted in the martyrdom of one girl and injuries to at least 17 people, the majority of whom were female mourners.

According to Karachi Police, a Suzuki Wagon broke through barriers installed outside the Imam Bargah and entered the courtyard, running over women present there.

DIG South Asad Raza stated that a 14-year-old girl, Zonaira, succumbed to her injuries in the incident. Police have taken three individuals traveling in the vehicle into custody. Initial investigations suggest that the driver was under the influence of intoxicants.

Prominent Shia scholars, including Allama Shabbir Hassan Meesami and Allama Syed Shehenshah Hussain Naqvi, described the incident as a serious security lapse and demanded a transparent investigation as well as stronger measures to ensure the safety and peaceful environment of mourning gatherings.
