According to ShiiteNews, the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government in Punjab, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has been accused of adopting an anti-Shia stance after placing Allama Syed Ruhullah Kazmi, President of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) District Jhang, on the Schedule Four list.

According to reports, Allama Syed Ruhullah Kazmi, principal of Madrasa Shams-ul-Uloom Qaim Bharwana and son of the late Allama Syed Azhar Hussain Kazmi, was added to the Schedule Four list by Punjab Police.

It is alleged that his only “offense” was announcing a Chehlum gathering in memory of the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, on May 10. The district administration and police in Jhang reportedly pressured organizers to cancel the gathering and later placed him on Schedule Four.

The leadership of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen strongly condemned the move, calling it unconstitutional. They demanded that the Punjab government immediately remove Allama Syed Ruhullah Kazmi from the Schedule Four list, stating that he has long worked for interfaith and inter-sect harmony in the district and has served humanity.
