Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Mohammad Mansour al-Shablaq said the Palestinian cause remains deeply rooted in the conscience of Arab youth, stressing that universities play a role not only in education but also in shaping socially responsible generations capable of contributing to the development of their societies.

Hamza Kashik, head of the student body at the faculty, said the rally reflected the important role of students in expressing social and national concerns, noting that today’s students will become the future pillars of society in fields such as medicine, engineering and law.

Organizer Moath al-Zaabi explained that the gathering was coordinated with university administration and event security and adhered to guidelines allowing only Syrian and Palestinian flags while maintaining a respectful academic atmosphere.

Participants also used symbolic gestures reflecting their academic disciplines: medical students wore white coats to highlight their humanitarian mission, while engineering students used symbols associated with their field to express solidarity with Palestinian prisoners.

Students attending the rally said the event aimed to express humanitarian solidarity with the Palestinian people and prisoners held by Israeli occupation authorities, calling for continued weekly student gatherings to raise awareness about the issue.

The rally forms part of broader initiatives by Syrian universities to highlight national and Arab causes and to promote civic awareness among youth.
