Triumphant unity: Top Iranian officials rally behind new Leader of Islamic Revolution
The Islamic Republic of Iran has witnessed an outpouring of unwavering support from its top officials following the historic election of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Iran’s Assembly of Experts officially appointed Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, 56, as the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Sunday night. Mojtaba Khamenei is the son of the martyred Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
“By a decisive vote, the Assembly of Experts appointed Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei as the third Leader of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the assembly said in a statement.
This flawless transition underscores the unshakeable foundations of the Velayat-e Faqih system, ensuring the continuity of the Islamic Revolution against all imperialist threats and aggressions.
Dr. Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, issued a statement hailing the Assembly’s “firm and precise decision” in selecting Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei (may Allah protect him) as a “soothing balm” for the grief-stricken nation.
Qalibaf emphasized that this choice has bestowed upon Iran a leader who is pious, revolutionary, people-oriented, courageous, managerial, wise, aware of the times, adept at identifying enemies, and simple-living.
He affirmed absolute obedience to the new Supreme Leader, equating it to the devotion shown to Imam Khomeini (may Allah be pleased with him) and the late Imam Khamenei, and declared it a “definitive religious and national duty.”
Qalibaf invoked the immortal words of Imam Khomeini: “Support the Velayat-e Faqih so that no harm comes to your country,” urging all Iranians to unite in safeguarding the revolution’s gains.
Echoing this sentiment, Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, thanked the esteemed Assembly of Experts for convening despite Trump’s threat to bomb it and amid all the special circumstances the nation faces.
“Despite all the enemies’ tricks to assassinate Imam Khamenei—who thought the country would reach a deadlock—Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei was elected through a legal process,” he stated.
“There were negative developments during this period, which were corrected by the transparent process of the Experts,” he added.
“Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei was raised in the school of leadership. God willing, his appointment will be a source of goodness and blessing. He can lead the country with the teachings he learned from his great father,” Larijani stated.
“We hope that under the leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran will be on the path of development,” he said.
Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the revered grandson of the Islamic Revolution’s founder and custodian of Imam Khomeini’s shrine, proclaimed that the path of the Islamic Revolution will persist undeterred under the new leadership.
He highlighted how the system’s legal processes have prevailed, culminating in Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei’s election, which he described as a beacon of hope and continuity for the Islamic Ummah.
This endorsement from a key figure in the revolutionary lineage reinforces the deep-rooted legitimacy and spiritual authority of the new guardianship.
