Scholarly Session on Metaphorical Style in Nahj al-Balagha Held at Jamiat al-Mustafa

Shiite News: A scholarly session titled “Nahj al-Balagha Mein Istiarati Asloob” The Metaphorical Style in Nahj al-Balagha was organized by the Research Department of Jamiat al Mustafa al Alamiya at the Imam Khamenei Library, Karachi. Faculty members and students participated in the event.
The session began after Zuhrain prayers and was moderated by student Fazal Abbas. Ayaz Ali recited verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a devotional recitation by Hasan Raza Jafri.
Director of Hawza Ilmiyya Imam Kazim, Najaf, Syed Raza Mousavi, delivered a comprehensive lecture explaining the concept of metaphor in Arabic literature, its types, and its rhetorical importance.
He presented multiple excerpts from Nahj al Balagha, explaining the subtleties of metaphorical expression and highlighting that the words of Imam Ali (AS) are not only a pinnacle of eloquence and rhetoric but also a reflection of deep intellectual and spiritual insight.
Following the lecture, a question-and-answer session was held in which students posed academic questions. Syed Raza Mousavi responded with clarity and depth, further enhancing the scholarly value of the session.
At the conclusion, Sikandar Ali Behishti thanked the guest speaker and reaffirmed the commitment to organizing similar academic programs in the future.
Later, Dr. Syed Bashir Naqvi, Assistant Director of Education, presented Syed Raza Mousavi with a published copy of Nahj al-Balagha from Jamiat al-Mustafa as a commemorative gift.
