Prayers of those reciting the Third Testimony are void: Ayatollah Basheer Najafi’s fatwa
Pakistan’s only Mujtahid in Shia world Hafiz Basheer Hussain Najafi issued a fatwa stating that prayers become void by giving the third testimony (Shahadat e Salisa or the testimony of Imam Ali’s wilayah) in Tashhud because neither Allah (swt) nor the Last Prophet (PBUH) or any Masoom (infallible) gave orders to perform it.
Ayatollah Basheer Najafi said “it is saddening to see that in Pakistan speakers, from the mimbar, abuse those who do not recite the third testimony”. He asked such people if the Prophet (PBUH) or Masoomen (as) or any senior Shia religious scholar recited this. When they did not do anything like this then from where this fitnah has come?
Hafiz Basheer Najafi said that it is the joint decision of Najaf’s religious scholars (Ulema) that reciting third testimony (Shahadat e Salisa) in prayers is not allowed.
It should be clear that some forces have been dividing the Shia nation by creating issues over such fitnahs just to achieve their own objectives and interests and Hafiz Basheer Najafi’s fatwa at such time has shut the mouths of fitnah propagators.
