Yemen warns war on Iran would transcend borders

Yemen’s ruling Ansarullah movement has warned that any act of aggression against Iran would have consequences far beyond the geographical borders of the West Asia region.

A member of Ansarullah’s political bureau said on Sunday that many countries would be affected by a potential US military attack on Iran.

“The nature of any aggression against Iran or Yemen is that it will never be confined to a specific geographical area; rather, its consequences will extend beyond borders and affect everyone without exception,” said Mohammed al-Farah.

The warning comes amid rising tensions and threats of a military confrontation between the United States and Iran.

Threats have escalated in recent days following the arrival of a flotilla of US warships in regional waters near Iran.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly urged Iran to return to negotiations over its nuclear program or face the threat of a military strike.

However, Iran has stated that even a single shot would be met with a massive response, and it has ruled out the possibility of holding talks under threats.

Under Ansarullah’s leadership, Yemen has conducted significant anti-US operations in regional waters, especially since the start of the Israeli war on Palestine in 2024.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s top association of religious scholars also issued a statement on Sunday, warning that threats of war against Iran are part of a broader scheme to target the Islamic ummah and its independence-seeking projects.

Yemeni scholars called on their peers across the Islamic world to adopt a clear and united stance against these threats.

They warned that failure to do so would lead to further challenges and conspiracies targeting resistance forces in the region.
