Karachi: Most Wanted Extortionist Terrorist Killed in Police Encounter

Shiite News:A most wanted terrorist and extortionist affiliated with the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba was killed during a police encounter with the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) in the Ibrahim Hyderi area of Karachi. According to the spokesperson of SSP SIU/CIA Karachi, intelligence reports indicated the presence of highly wanted extortionists in the area, prompting a targeted operation.
During the raid, the suspects opened fire on the police, who responded in retaliation. As a result of the exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed while his accomplices managed to escape. A pistol and a mobile phone were recovered from the deceased.
The killed terrorist was identified as Ghani-ur-Rehman alias Abdul Ghani, who was involved in multiple firing incidents during extortion activities.
Police records reveal that in January 2023, he, along with his accomplices, murdered a trader in the Banaras area for refusing to pay extortion. In 2022, he was also involved in a deadly firing incident in Gulshan-e-Maymar.
Investigations further disclosed his involvement in large-scale extortion across Karachi, including demands of Rs. 200 million from a butcher shop in Banaras, Rs. 40 million from a paint shop, Rs. 100 million from a butcher shop in Orangi Town, and Rs. 500 million from a sweets shop in the Saddar area. Police stated that the terrorist was also involved in extortion and terrorist activities in Peshawar and had multiple cases registered against him for terrorism, extortion, and illegal possession of weapons.
