Death Anniversaries of Sheikh Jawad, Sheikh Mohsin observed
Shiite News: The 27th death anniversary of renowned religious scholar Allama Sheikh Jawad Hussain and the 2nd death anniversary of Allama Sheikh Mohsin Ali Najafi were observed with deep reverence and respect in Hangu.
A spiritual gathering was held at Jamia Masjid Faizullah, where scholars paid glowing tribute to the religious, intellectual, and spiritual services of the departed scholars.
Addressing the gathering, District Khateeb Hangu Allama Khurshid Anwar Jawadi and other scholars stated that Allama Sheikh Jawad Hussain was among the great and distinguished scholars of the subcontinent whose services to Islam remain unforgettable.
Speakers noted that although 27 years have passed since Allama Sheikh Jawad Hussain’s demise, conscious members of society continue to remember his selfless services.
For nearly 50 years, he devoted himself to the intellectual, religious, and spiritual training of the people of Banguish, Orakzai, and Kurram, laying the foundations of a strong moral and religious society.
Scholars highlighted various aspects of his life, noting that he carried out extensive missionary activities across the subcontinent.
From 1928 to 1930, he stayed in Bombay (India), followed by religious services in Delhi, Agra, and Meerut in 1931, and Alipur Muzaffargarh during 1932–33.
He served in Jhang during 1934–35 and later in Rangoon in 1936. That same year, he was appointed as Qazi Shariat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It was further stated that Allama Sheikh Jawad Hussain played an active role in the Pakistan Movement in 1946 and, after independence, served from 1948 to 1998 as Imam Juma wal Jamaat and District Shia Khateeb of the Bangash region with exceptional dedication.
Among his most notable achievements was the establishment of two major religious institutions: Jamia Bab-ul-Ilm Mubarakpur (Azamgarh, India) and Jamia Al-Askaría Hangu, both of which continue to serve as centers of religious education.
The event was attended by Hujjat-ul-Islam Allama Sheikh Anwar Ali Najafi, Allama Khurshid Anwar Jawadi, Allama Hamid Hussain Imami, sons of Allama Sheikh Jawad Hussain, and a large number of scholars and followers from Kohat, Hangu, Orakzai, and Kurram.
The gathering concluded with special prayers for the elevation of the ranks of the departed scholars.
