Crowds from across Yemen participated in the mass demonstration held under the banner “Liberation Is Our Choice; Occupation Is in Decline.”

The rally followed a call by Abdul Malik al-Houthi, leader of the Houthi movement, and coincided with the 58th anniversary of Yemen’s November 30 independence from Britain.

In a statement read at the event, participants declared their commitment to “carrying the banner of Islam and jihad as our ancestors in Ansar once did.”

The statement said demonstrators remained “steadfast and fully prepared” for future confrontations with “enemies and their military and security tools” through official, popular and mobilization efforts.

Speakers reiterated that Yemen would “never abandon its just positions” and would continue supporting Palestinians and Lebanese groups facing Israeli military pressure.

The statement argued that the commemoration of November 30 served as a reminder to “all tyrants and their agents” that foreign occupation inevitably ends, regardless of how long it lasts.

Demonstrators told “oppressed nations” that those with determination and trust in God could achieve major victories.

The November 30 anniversary marks the end of 129 years of British rule in southern Yemen and the expulsion of foreign forces, a milestone Yemenis attribute to the sacrifices of fighters and widespread public resistance.
