Terrorists Target DC’s Convoy in Balochistan with Remote-Controlled Bomb
Shiite News: The outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) terrorist group carried out a remote-controlled bomb attack on the convoy of Deputy Commissioner Kech, Basheer Ahmed Baloch, in Balochistan, injuring eight people including seven Levies personnel and one civilian.
According to police reports, the explosion occurred as the DC’s convoy was passing through the area, causing severe damage to nearby buildings and vehicles. However, the Deputy Commissioner escaped unhurt due to his bulletproof vehicle.
DSP Nazir Ahmed informed the media that the explosive device, estimated to contain around 15 kilograms of material, had been planted on a motorcycle and detonated remotely.
The blast was powerful enough to shatter windows in nearby structures and destroy multiple vehicles.
Security forces and police immediately cordoned off the area, deployed additional contingents, and launched an intensive search and clearance operation to locate the perpetrators.
The attack marks yet another attempt by sectarian extremists to destabilize the province and challenge state authority.
Similar incidents earlier targeted several administrative officials, including Deputy Commissioners of Panjgur and Sorab, underlining the persistent threat posed by banned militant organizations in the region.
