Shiite News: A grand “Ulema and Mashaikh of Islam Conference” was held at Jamia Al-Kauthar Islamabad, bringing together prominent religious scholars and spiritual leaders from all schools of thought to reaffirm the commitment to Muslim unity and national harmony.
The conference was graced by a high-level delegation from the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (A.S.), led by Hujjatul Islam Allama Ali Al-Qurraawi.
In his keynote address, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi underscored the vital importance of unity, national integration, and sectarian harmony.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, as chief guest, stated that Pakistan’s progress and stability are rooted in the unity of the Muslim Ummah. Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi, Vice President of Shia Ulema Council and member of the Rehmatul-lil-Alameen Authority, highlighted that the participation of scholars from all sects under one roof conveyed a powerful message of brotherhood and solidarity.
Speakers recalled the establishment of the Milli Yakjehti Council in 1995 by leaders including Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Allama Sajid Naqvi, Maulana Sami ul Haq, Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani, Maulana Fazl ur Rehman, and Professor Sajid Mir, noting its pivotal role in reducing sectarian tensions.
They stressed that the Quran unites the believers as one Ummah, and that Pakistan—an Islamic and nuclear power—must continue to uphold the message of Tawheed, unity, and peace.
The scholars further emphasized that the challenges facing the Muslim world, particularly the oppression in Palestine and Gaza, demand renewed unity and vigilance against divisive forces.
At the conclusion, appreciation was expressed for Jamia Al-Kauthar’s administration, including Allama Sheikh Anwar Najafi and Allama Sheikh Ishaq Najafi, for organizing a successful conference that strengthened the cause of unity and inter-sect harmony.
