Punjab Government Launches Crackdown on Takfiri TLP; Assets Seized, Thousands Arrested

Shiite News: The Punjab government has initiated a decisive crackdown against the Takfiri extremist group Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), announcing that it will now be treated as a proscribed organization under strict anti-terror measures.
Under the government’s orders, all assets, properties, bank accounts, and social media handles linked to TLP are being seized. Over 4,000 individuals have been arrested so far, with further arrests expected.
Authorities have also placed TLP-controlled seminaries under the Auqaf Department’s supervision to ensure oversight of their assets and activities. Public rallies, advertisements, and banners of the group have been completely banned to curb extremist messaging.
Analysts describe the move as a major step toward countering religious extremism and safeguarding public order. Officials reaffirmed that any political or religious entity endangering national peace will face strict legal and administrative action.
