Sohail Afridi is a facilitator of terrorists, says journalist Wajahat Kazmi
Shiite News: Senior journalist Wajahat Kazmi has strongly criticized the nomination of Sohail Afridi for the post of Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, calling him a known facilitator of terrorists, supporter of Taliban militants, and a person deeply linked with criminal networks.
In a post on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Wajahat Kazmi wrote:
“Sohail Afridi cannot be the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He is a known facilitator and sympathizer of terrorists — a mirror image of his convicted leader whose policies revived terrorism in the province. Making such a person CM would be like appointing TTP leader Noor Wali Mehsud as the ruler of KP.”
He further alleged that Afridi has strong connections with criminal mafias, takes hefty commissions, and openly supports the Taliban while spewing venom against the Pakistan Army.
Wajahat Kazmi emphasized that thousands of Pakistanis and brave soldiers have sacrificed their lives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and their blood cannot be betrayed by appointing someone with a “semi-Taliban” mindset to lead the province.
He added that as a result of Imran Khan’s policies, around 35,000 militants were re-settled in Pakistan — a decision whose repercussions are still being felt across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today.
