Shiite News: Punjab University has once again become a battlefield. There was a clash between workers and university security guards during the rally of Islami Jamiat Talaba. Jamiat workers broke the windows of two university vehicles. Police arrested the rioting students.
The university spokesperson says that Jamiat is trying to blackmail the university administration, their hidden demand is the reinstatement of dismissed workers, while dismissed Jamiat workers are involved in various crimes.
The university spokesperson further said that the stay orders of the dismissed students were thrown out of the court, the current administration has stopped Jamiat’s extortion. Now Jamiat neither gets free food nor their clothes are washed for free.
The spokesperson said that Jamiat can no longer rent out hostel rooms — in fact, Jamiat is suffering from the closure of its illegal business.
There were also unrelated and suspicious people present at the Jamiat rally. The spokesperson of Punjab University said that all the demands of the hooligan elements are baseless and behind the Jamiat are elements who cannot tolerate administrative improvements.
On the other hand, the leaders of the Islamic Jamiat Talaba say that they wanted to register a protest against their basic problems and lack of educational facilities, but the administration deliberately turned our peaceful protest into violence.
They said that there is a protest against the anti-student policies of the university administration, cancellation of unjustified degrees, unfair measures in the hostel policy and continuous increase in fees.
On this occasion, the leaders of the Jamiat demanded that the problems faced by the students be resolved immediately, hostels and other facilities be improved, the process of cancellation of unjustified degrees be stopped, and educational expenses be reduced.
