Shiite News: The important national consultative meeting of the Milli Yakjehti Council of Pakistan was held at a private hotel in Islamabad under the hosting of the Islamic Movement and the chairmanship of the Council President Sahibzada Dr. Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair.

The meeting was moderated by Liaquat Baloch, while Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Islamic Movement head Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen Pakistan Vice Chairman Allama Syed Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi, heads of all the parties of the council, the central cabinet and some provincial presidents participated in it.

The main points of the joint declaration are as follows:

* The situation in the country has become alarming, national unity has been badly affected by government divisiveness and biased policies. The nation stood united with the Pakistani army in the Indo-Pak war, but instead of handling internal crises after victory, the behavior of the government and the establishment is contrary to democracy and the constitution.

* The steadfastness of the Islamic Republic of Iran was appreciated and congratulations were offered on the success of the Iranian nation in the face of the aggression of the United States and Israel. Iran’s peaceful nuclear program is its right.

* The restoration of Pak-Afghan relations, diplomatic improvement and the positive role of China were appreciated. The two countries should end their grievances through negotiations.

* A strong defense, scientific, trade and diplomatic bloc between Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh was declared indispensable for the Islamic nation.

* Strongly condemning the Israeli aggression, it was said that an attempt is being made to wipe out the Palestinians from the face of the earth through bombing of Gaza, genocide, demolition of settlements and famine. The existence of Israel is illegitimate, its elimination is a condition for world peace.

* The silence of the international community on Indian brutality in occupied Kashmir is shameful, Kashmiris should be given the right to self-determination.

* Condolences were expressed to the families of those who died in the torrential rains, and immediate relief measures were demanded from the government.

* Corruption, the usury system and the luxury of the rulers are responsible for the economic disaster. The abolition of usury and the implementation of an Islamic economic system were demanded.

* Serious concern was expressed over the deteriorating law and order situation, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, terrorism and public insecurity.

* Deep concern was also expressed over the situation in Balochistan and support was given for the recovery of missing persons, provincial autonomy and control over resources.

* Condemning the legislation against the Quran and Sunnah, it was termed as contrary to Sharia, constitutional and national values. The government should immediately withdraw the legislation against the principles of Islam, otherwise there will be a nationwide protest.

* Expressing serious concern over the hybrid system, violation of the constitution and attacks on the judiciary and democracy, a national dialogue was called for.

* Effective measures were demanded to establish peace in Gilgit-Baltistan and prevent terrorism under the auspices of India.

* Protection of religious seminaries, provision of necessities and measures against them were opposed. If the government decisions are not implemented, a public movement will be launched through an all-party conference.
