Shiite News: The Pakistan Army has named its recent defensive operation “Bunyanum Marsoos”, which is the last words of a blessed verse of the Holy Quran.

This choice has forced the hearts of the believers to rejoice, because this verse is directly associated with the Commander of the Faithful, Hazrat Ali (AS).

Allah Almighty says in verse 4 of Surah As-Saff of the Holy Quran:
Surely Allah loves those who fight in His cause in ˹solid˺ ranks as if they were one concrete structure.

This verse portrays the true Mujahideen in speech and action, and clearly distinguishes between right and wrong on the battlefield.

According to historical and exegetical sources, in addition to Shia books, some Sunni sources have also stated that this verse was revealed in honor of Hazrat Ali bin Abi Talib (AS).

The famous commentary “Shwahid al-Tanzil” (Volume 2, Page 337) narrates that Ad-Dahhak asked Ibn Abbas, “Who are the people referred to by ‘As if they were a leaden building’?”

Ibn Abbas replied: “Hamza, the lion of Allah and His Messenger, and Ali ibn Abi Talib, the grandson of the Messenger of Allah, Ubaidah ibn al-Harith, and Miqdad ibn al-Aswad.”

This verse pays tribute to those who, by sacrificing their lives, strengthened the foundations of Islam like a leaden wall.

Hazrat Ali, whose sword Zulfiqar always drew a line between right and wrong, is the prime example of this verse. His personality is the scale by which God’s beloved and God’s hated are distinguished on the battlefield.

The choice of the “Banyan Marsus” by the Pakistan Army is not only a defensive measure but also a spiritual and faith-based message —
that “In any war between right and wrong, unless the name of Ali (a.s.) is invoked and help is sought, victory is not possible!”

Nara e Haideri! Ya Ali (a.s.) madad!
