No compromise on natural resources of GB, Joint decision
Shiite News: A joint meeting of the Central Imamia Anjuman Gilgit-Baltistan and Astore was held at the office of the Imamia Anjuman Baltistan in the Central Imamia Jamia Mosque, Skardu, in which Agha Syed Rahat Hussain Al-Hussaini from Gilgit specially participated.
The meeting discussed the protection of GB’s resources, national and tribal issues and expressed the determination to protect the natural resources of Gilgit-Baltistan at all costs. No individual from Gilgit-Baltistan should become an instrument of this conspiracy.
The participation of the GB Chief Minister in the Minerals Conference is a conspiracy to cast doubt on public resources.
If the land reforms conflict with public expectations and customary and Sharia laws, they will be rejected.
According to the details, Quaid-e-Millat Jafariya Gilgit Syed Rahat Hussain Al-Hussaini visited Baltistan along with Syed Sharafuddin Kazmi, President of the Central Imamia Association of Gilgit, and the cabinet.
President of the Imamia Association of Baltistan Agha Syed Baqir Al-Hussaini and other scholars warmly welcomed Agha Rahat Hussain Al-Hussaini and other scholars upon their arrival at the Imamia Center in Skardu.
Later, a joint important meeting of the Central Imamia Association of Astor, Central Imamia Association of Baltistan, and Central Imamia Association of Gilgit was held at the Imamia Center in Skardu.
A 6-member interim committee was formed in the meeting to address the problems facing Gilgit-Baltistan, promote national unity, resolve the common long-standing problems of Gilgit-Baltistan, and protect natural resources.
It will form an important forum consisting of associations of all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan and necessary important figures, which will determine a joint action plan on important issues of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The meeting reviewed the agreements on green tourism, land reforms, especially the Pakistan Minerals Development Conference Islamabad.
The meeting made it clear to the federal and provincial governments that all natural resources of Gilgit-Baltistan, land, rivers, glaciers, forests and minerals are the property of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, which cannot be allowed to be encroached upon.
The meeting reiterated its resolve to protect public interests by standing against any conspiracy to seize the natural resources of Gilgit-Baltistan through any law.
The meeting also condemned efforts to deprive people associated with this business of employment through unnecessary restrictions on online leasing, mining registration and essential equipment related to mining.
Background: At the recent Minerals Conference held in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had said that mountain-like foreign debt can be relieved through the minerals available in KPK and Gilgit-Baltistan. Several agreements were also signed with various foreign companies regarding mineral exploration in this conference. The agreement with a Chinese company also includes a lithium exploration agreement in GB.
After the Prime Minister’s address, a strong reaction is being expressed in Gilgit-Baltistan and various stakeholders are intensifying the consultation process to protect the resources of the region.
In this regard, Syed Rahat Hussain Al-Hussaini from Gilgit is on a special visit to Skardu. On the other hand, a Grand National Jirga is also being organized soon under the auspices of the People’s Action Committee Gilgit-Baltistan.
The leaders of the People’s Action Committee met the opposition members, including the opposition leader, in Gilgit and invited them to participate in the Grand National Jirga. On this occasion, the opposition members called the Grand National Jirga the need of the hour.
