Paying Zakat e Fitra is obligatory for all members of the family, even for a newborn child, Hafiz Riaz Najafi

Shiite News: Shia Wifaq ul Madaris clarified that it is obligatory for all members of the family, even for a newborn child, to pay Zakat al-Fitr on the night of Eid al-Fitr.

The person who has no expenses for himself and his family throughout the year and does not have any income through which he can meet the expenses of his family throughout the year is entitled to Zakat al-Fitr, while the person who is entitled to Zakat al-Fitr is not obliged to pay Zakat al-Fitr.

Also, the people who are entitled to Zakat al-Fitr are the same people who are entitled to Zakat. Fitrah can also be given with the intention of obligation after seeing the moon.

In another case, there is a unanimous fatwa of all mujtahids that you can give a loan to a deserving person on any date of the blessed month before the sighting of the Eid moon, and after seeing the Eid moon, you can calculate it as Fitrah.

So that deserving people can buy goods for the joys of Eid.

Ayatollah Hafiz Riaz Hussain Najafi, President of the Shia Wifaq ul Madris, has said that believers who consume mostly wheat should pay Fitrah at the rate of Rs. 300 and those who consume mostly rice should pay Rs. 900 per person.

People who consume mostly wheat should pay three kilograms of wheat per person or its local price as Fitrah.
