MWM announces task force on humanitarian crisis in Parachinar
Shiite News: The closure of Parachinar’s roads has created the worst humanitarian crisis. Due to scarcity of food, medicine, and fuel, millions of people are starving for basic necessities during the month of Ramadan, while the provincial and federal governments are showing indifference.
In view of this situation, Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM) has started the process of forming a “Joint Task Force” to restore the basic rights of the oppressed people of Parachinar and end the closure of roads.
An important meeting was held at the central office of Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen Pakistan under the chairmanship of Allama Syed Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi, Vice Chairman, Islamabad, in which communication with all stakeholders, lifting of road closures, and sharing of responsibilities were discussed.
The meeting was attended by the party’s Central General Secretary Syed Nasir Abbas Shirazi, Secretary Political Affairs Syed Asad Abbas Naqvi, Parliamentary Leader Engineer Hameed Hussain, and other leaders including young representatives of Parachinar.
The meeting discussed in detail the long-standing issues of Parachinar. Terming the unjustified arrest of Parachinar Mayor Muzammil Hussain and the false cases against him as an “abuse of power”, it was emphasized to take legal, public, and administrative steps for his immediate release.
It was informed that the services of the best lawyers have been obtained for the matter and the team will be increased if necessary.
