Request to shut down the internet in Muharram was not rejected, Interior

The Ministry of Interior has said that the reports of rejecting the request of the provinces regarding shutting down the internet during Muharram are not true. The spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior says that speculations on this matter should be avoided.
The Ministry of Interior did not take any decision on the requests from the provinces. According to the spokesperson, no directive has been issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on this issue. The Ministry of Interior further says that the request of any province has not been approved or rejected.
