Azadari is Legal and Constitutional Right, Restrictions Must Be Avoided, Allama Shabbir Maisami

Secretary General of the Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan, Allama Shabbir Maisami stated that Azadari is a legal and constitutional right that should be free from restrictions. Registration of cases against organizers in the four-walled Majalis and Mahafil is an unconstitutional act, and this practice should be stopped. Under the unfair and unjust policy of balance, it is necessary to avoid the ban on the entry of respected Ulema, Zakireen, speakers and moderate-minded personalities in different districts and prohibition on speech.
The administration should refrain from imposing unjustified restrictions on Majalis and processions, even banning Majalis inside the walls, obstructing processions, limiting, banning and imposing conditions such as bond filling, NOC, and creating various excuses to create obstacles in Majalis and processions.
Positive, serious-minded and moderate-minded people should be employed to ensure the establishment of peace and law and order. For decades, there has been a tradition of broadcasting programs on electronic media on a large scale from 1st to 10th Muharram and publishing articles in print media or on air. However, for some time now, there has been a lot of restriction regarding Muharram al-Haram. Therefore, it is recommended to maintain the previous positive tradition. In addition, electricity transmission should be ensured across the country so that enemy elements, terrorists and miscreants cannot take undue advantage.
These views were expressed by Dr. Allama Shabbir Hasan Maisami, Central Secretary General of the Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan, in separate letters to Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza, Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Chairman of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Muhammad Salim Baig, Federal Secretary Interior, Federal Secretary Information, Chairman PTV, DG Radio, Coordinator NACTA, Governors, Chief Ministers, Chief Secretaries, Home Secretaries and IGs Police, informing them about the important matters related to the holy month of Muharram-ulHaram and Safar-ul-Muzaffar 1446 AH.
He further said that Quaid-e-Millat Jafriyah Pakistan Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi has issued directives to all the responsible persons of Muslim Unity for the promotion of unity and solidarity, and to cooperate positively and fully with the federal and provincial governments and all levels of administration. It is also expected from the federal and provincial governments and all levels of administration that they will cooperate positively and fully.
