Second French warship arrives in Red Sea as Houthi raids continue
A second French warship has arrived in the Red Sea amid escalating tensions with the Houthis in Yemen.
The French army said the ship had been deployed to help ensure freedom of navigation. The Houthis have said that they are attacking Israel-linked vessels in the Red Sea to exert pressure to end the war in Gaza.
“In close cooperation with the allies, the French warships contribute to the respect of international law and freedom of navigation,” the French army said.
