After regime change, intimated masses of anti-people decisions of present govt, Kazim Maisam

Shiite News: Opposition leader of Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and parliamentary leader of Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen Kazim Maisam has said in a statement released to the media that after the regime change, we informed the people of Gilgit-Baltistan that this government will take anti-people decisions.

The people did not give the mandate to this ‘Bhan Mati’ rule. This group has no moral justification for the government.

Linking the removal of wheat subsidies to the IMF is a joke with this disputed region. The people who were demanding constitutional rights will now be forced to step up to achieve disputed rights.

The disputed rights mean royalties on the Indus River, royalties on the Sost Port and rivers, as well as passage of all historical routes, in addition to subsidies on food items.

We still sincerely advise the government to participate in the protest rallies along with the people. The people are the state, the people are the country, the people are the power and the political life of the politicians is in the hands of the people.

The opposition leader further said that it is not right to link subsidy with constitutional rights. Is the metrobus operating in Islamabad outside the constitutional scope, is there no subsidy on fertilizer factories of more than 25 billion, is there no subsidy of billions on utility, is there no subsidy on Ramadan package, is there no subsidy on Pasco operation, and is it All are outside of Pakistan.

Subsidy is given by any government according to different objective conditions and ground realities.

160 billion rupees is the right of Gilgit-Baltistan in the budget. If the royalty is also given to Gilgit-Baltistan, all the problems of this region can be solved, but the federal governments have always mocked the rights of Gilgit-Baltistan.

After 75 years of deprivation, further exploitation is reckless of the government. There is still time for the government to be smart and not alienate the region.
