Continuation of measures taken in our era to develop agriculture are inevitable, Kazim Maisam

Shiite News: Opposition Leader Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and Parliamentary Leader of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM) Gilgit-Baltistan Kazim Maisam has said in a statement that in view of the challenges of food security, the steps taken in our era to develop agriculture on modern basis and self-reliance are significant.

The Minister of Agriculture said that we have taken significant steps to improve the agricultural sector, but now agriculture is not among the priorities of the provincial government.

He said that last year we had kept 350 metric tons of wet seed from the Chief Minister’s block and had also allocated funds for hybrid vegetable seed, which had extremely positive results and increased the productivity of thousands of tons of wheat.

Seeing the positive feedback from the people and the landowners, 1000 metric tons of wheat seeds were allocated from the block this year, but it is heard that it is not included in the priorities of the Chief Minister.

I request the provincial government to continue and extend the people-friendly policy, especially the supply of wheat seeds is a very useful policy.

Kazim Maisam said that he expects the Minister of Agriculture to not let this scheme go to waste under any circumstances.
