Strike observed in Parachinar as death toll rises to 14
A shutter-down strike was observed in Parachinar on Tuesday to protest against the massacre of 14 Shia Muslims in an act of terrorism in Toori Market Kashmir Chowk.
Shia tribes of Toori/Bangash had given a call for shutdown strike. Business activities remained suspended due to closures of markets and shops.
The grieved mourners also staged a protest rally and chanted slogans against the terrorists and the government for their failure to stop terrorism.
At least 14 Shias have been martyred and dozens injured in a suicidal attack on Shia commercial market.
Communication from Parachinar was suspended as neither cell phones nor internet contact could be made. A foreign radio service had disclosed that 20 Shias were martyred and 64 were injured in the attack.
