Shiite News: While addressing a press conference along with other central leaders against the conflicting legislation Syed Nasir Abbas Shirazi, the Central General Secretary of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Pakistan, said that the content of bill is highly controversial and based on extremist thinking.

A most sensitive bill was passed secretly in the National Assembly with twenty-two members of the assembly.
Once again, a sinister attempt is being made to get the same controversial sectarian bill approved by the upper house.

In this bill, the punishments have been increased and changed to life imprisonment.

The historical facts does not fall into the category of blasphemy, the passage of this bill will start an endless cycle of blasphemy that will be unstoppable.

This controversial amendment act will undermine the overall atmosphere of religious harmony and tolerance in the country, which will be misused by violent minded groups and elements as baseless and fabricated allegations against innocent people.

He said that while it is clearly written in the constitution that every Pakistani citizen is free to promote his faith, the constitution says that no one can be forcibly taught contrary to his creed or religion.

It is regrettable to say that Islamic Ideological Council and Milli Yakjehti Council were not given the opportunity to think about it.

All this is tantamount to distorting the image of Muslim Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
We absolutely reject the presentation of this religious and controversial bill. The use of institutions like the Senate and the National Assembly for religious chaos should be stopped.
