Imran Khan for suo motu action over sectarian killings

imran khan gilgitImran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, has asked the chief justice of Pakistan to take suo motu action against the targeted murders of Shiites in Pakistan.

He said the government’s silence on the incidents in Gilgit-Baltistan and Quetta was unfortunate.
Imran Khan expressed these views during his visit to Skardu to express sorrow on the targeted murders of Shia passengers in Gilgit-Baltistan in three consecutive incidents held within Six months.

Imran Khan said that the country’s “incompetent and weak leadership” had been unsuccessful in providing protection to the people saying that the entire nation was saddened by the targeted killings of Shias in Quetta and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Tehreek-e-Insaf chief said the government should resign if it could not protect the citizens from the terrorists.

Imran Khan also visited mosques of different schools of thought and met a number of religious scholars in Skardu including Friday prayer leader of Skardu Sheikh Mohammad Jafari. He emphasised the need to promote tolerance in order to keep the Muslims united.

He also requested the chief justice to take suo motu action over the recent incidents of terrorism in Quetta, Babusar and Kohistan.
