MWM leader chairs GB Council sub-committee meeting

Shiite News: The sub-committee meeting of Gilgit-Baltistan Council was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Political Majlis Wahdat Muslimin Gilgit-Baltistan and member GB Council Sheikh Ahmed Ali Noori, in which the overall problematic situation faced by the people of GB was considered.

It was discussed that the people of GB are on the streets for their demands in winter, but the federal and provincial governments have not taken any significant steps so far.

The committee expressed the expectation that the federal and provincial governments will immediately solve the problems of the people of GB through immediate measures.

In addition, the provincial government will also take sufficient action on the non-release of wheat subsidies and the problem of electricity and land.

Concern was expressed over the non-implementation of the action plan and it was hoped that immediate attention would be paid to the problems.

The deduction of funds by the federal government and withholding of PSDP funds and not solving the issue of wheat subsidy are very unfair.

All the members of the GB Council strongly emphasized in the meeting that authorities should solve the contract problems otherwise all the members of the council will be forced to hold a press conference.

In this regard, Federal Advisor for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira had promised to meet with the Prime Minister to solve the problems, but no solution has come out yet, on which the members of the council expressed serious concern.

The meeting also demanded the immediate release of the budget of the Council of Members.

The meeting fully supported the ongoing sit-in in Gilgit-Baltistan and the members of the Council assured to take all possible steps to solve the public problems.
