Shiite News: The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Islamabad has issued a security alert to its citizens, instructing them to exercise caution and restrict movement in view of the growing threat of terrorism.
In the alert issued by the Embassy of Saudi Arabia, it is said that the citizens coming to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia and staying here should be careful and do not go out unnecessarily. In this regard, it is stated that the security of Islamabad is kept at a high level and citizens of Saudi Arabia should contact the embassy and consulate in case of need.
Earlier, the US embassy had barred its staff from visiting the Marriott Hotel due to fear of attacks, and several other embassies have also restricted their staff to stay in Islamabad for some time, especially for the first time.
Alerts have been issued by foreign embassies in Islamabad to caution their citizens after Friday’s suicide attack in the federal capital that killed a policeman and a taxi driver.
According to the Islamabad-based Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), this was the first suicide attack in the federal capital since 2014.
It should be remembered that 165 people were killed and more than 600 were injured in 18 suicide attacks between 2005 and 2014.
The last suicide blast occurred in March 2014 when two attackers blew themselves up at the judicial complex in Sector F-8.
There have been 504 suicide attacks in the country in the last 22 years, with a total of 6,000 deaths, 748 people died and 15 thousand 111 were injured.
