Imambargahs should be center of promotion, dissemination of knowledge, Allama Zaki Baqiri

Shiite News: Prominent religious scholar and thinker of Islam, Allama Muhammad Zaki Baqiri, while addressing Majlis-e-Aza in Shadman Lahore, said that Imam Bargahs should be centers of knowledge and practice, we are followers of “Babul Ilm A.S” (Gate of Knowledge, a title for Hazrat Ali A.S) but are far away from knowledge.

He said that we should be at the forefront in the field of knowledge. Allama Zaki Baqiri said that our Imambargahs remain empty all year round, only during the days of Muharram-ul-Haram, congregations are held here, so why not convert these centers into educational centers and open schools here.

He said that our Imam A.S has stressed on the pursuit of education, we have an immense treasure of knowledge in the form of Ahl al-Bayt (A.S), we have to realize this treasure.

He said that whoever gets to know this knowledge, the knowledge of the world will be seen as a well and the knowledge of the Ale-Muhammad (A.S) will be equal to the ocean.

He said, “Don’t take knowledge from such preachers who take you away from education and knowledge, but keep in touch with such scholars who call you to the Lord.”

He said that Allah gave the first lesson to the Prophet (PBUH) “Read in the name of your Lord”. He said that knowledge is the inheritance of a believer, do not leave this inheritance nor waste it, but acquire it and use this knowledge to prepare for your final salvation. He said that we have great centers of knowledge in the form of great Imams A.S.

Allama Muhammad Zaki Baqiri said that the world is creating a charter of human rights today, while our Prophet (PBUH) gave this charter fourteen hundred years ago.

He said that the real bearer of human rights is Islam, in America before 1947, blacks were considered as inferior beings, their settlements were separate, their means of transportation were different, they were considered low and inferior, while our Prophet (PBUH) fourteen hundred years ago, first he ordered Hazrat Bilal Habashi that Bilal will give the adhan (a call for prayer). He said that these are the golden principles of Islam on which the building of humanity is built.
