MWM demands UN peace forces for protection of Myanmar’s Muslims
The supporters of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen staged a demonstration on Friday to protest against the massacre of Myanmar’s Muslims by Buddhist fanatics and Myanmar’s government.
The protest was held after Friday prayers. Large number of protestors raised slogans to express solidarity with the Muslims of Myanmar. Maulana Baqar Zaidi, Maulana Ali Anwar Jafri, Asghar Zaidi and Mohammad Mehdi spoke to the protestors.
They said that on one hand, Western governments who call them champions of human rights are silent but on the other, heads of Islamic states and religious and political parties are also not voicing their protest against Myanmar government’s atrocities.
They recalled that Grand Ayatollah Imam Ali Khamenei and Iranian nation have come out to voice their all out support to the oppressed Muslims of Myanmar. They urged Muslims to emulate them and break their silence. They said that on one hand enemies of Islam are busy in weakening Islamic resistance through terrorism in Syria and on the other, Myanmar’s Muslims have been left defenceless.
The MWM leaders condemned the inaction by United Nations, OIC and human rights organisations. They demanded of the United Nations Secretary General Ban Kimoon to intervene into Myanmar’s affairs to stop Muslims genocide there. They demanded that peac e missions be deployed there. They also urged Muslim governments to rescind their policy of toeing the line of the United States in the region. They urged them to join hands with each other and listen to the genuine complaints and grievances of Muslims.
